Vashra are intelligent creatures with a natural affinity for Miraj, which they use to reflect the forms of other living creatures. A Vashra does more than imitate its subject’s appearance. It instinctively reproduces their movements and physical talents, wielding another creature’s abilities with unsettling familiarity.
Once a Vashra has taken a reflection, it becomes possessive of that identity and may regard the original creature as an intruder, rival, or even an impostor.

Special Abilities:
- Reflection: As an action, a Vashra may make a Miraj roll to reflect a living creature it can see. With success, it assumes a crude approximation of the creature’s appearance and copies its Agility, Strength, Vigor, Athletics, Fighting, and Shooting, as well as its Pace, Parry, Toughness, Size, and natural weapons. The resemblance is unmistakable, but imperfect and often grotesque, with distorted features, incorrect proportions, and poorly understood details.
- With a raise, the Reflection is nearly flawless, reproducing the creature’s appearance, voice, movements, and mannerisms closely enough to pass for the original under casual observation. A character with reason to suspect the deception may make a Notice roll opposed by the Vashra’s Miraj to recognize subtle inconsistencies.
- A Vashra retains its own Smarts, Spirit, Miraj, memories, and knowledge and cannot reproduce equipment, Arcane Backgrounds, Powers, or other supernatural abilities. A Vashra may maintain only one Reflection at a time.
- Possessive Reflection: A Vashra becomes intensely possessive of a creature it has successfully reflected. It is not automatically hostile toward its subject, but regards the reflected identity as something that now belongs to it. How this manifests varies by individual. A Vashra might stalk its reflection, attempt to drive it away, demand its possessions, imitate its relationships, or become violent when its claim is challenged.
- Reflected Target: A Vashra may use warrior’s gift through Miraj, but may only gain Combat Edges possessed by the creature it is currently reflecting.
