Erra’s Scar is an enormous crater traditionally believed to mark the place where Erra returned to Tarisia during the waning years of the Age of Abundance.
According to the oldest poems, the Old Kingdoms discovered a sealed Path of the Traveler and, through means now lost, managed to open it. Whatever followed was violent enough to destroy the Path itself, leaving an immense scar upon the land. Amid the wreckage stood Erra, who called himself The Exile.
The Scar remains a place of ill omen, associated with Sorcery, forbidden knowledge, and catastrophes born of mortal curiosity. Whether the crater was truly created by Erra’s arrival is difficult to prove, though few Tarisians find the distinction especially important.
“By Erra’s Scar” remains a common curse throughout Tarisia.
