The All Thumbs, Can’t Swim, Doubting Thomas, and Poverty Hindrances from Savage Worlds are unavailable. Additionally, Anemic is now a Major Hindrance. The following new Hindrances are designed specifically for Savage Sands of Tarisia.
ARCANE CONDUIT (MINOR/MAJOR)
The character is a natural conduit for magical energies. Corruptors are innately aware of a conduit and may choose to channel their spells through this individual. If the conduit fails a –1 Spirit check, the Corruptor’s spell is channeled through their body. As a Major Hindrance the penalty increases to –2. On a Critical Failure they receive the effects of Backlash and Corruption instead of the caster.
BOASTFUL (MINOR)
The hero can’t help but taunt and boast to her opponents. She must attempt to Taunt an opponent before attacking, or suffer a –2 penalty on her initial attack roll.
WANDERLUST (MAJOR)
The hero feels the beckoning call of the savage sands and finds it difficult to stay put. She must travel or, if in the same city or locale for more than 48 hours, becomes Distracted until leaving. This penalty applies immediately if the hero is captured, imprisoned, or otherwise prevented from moving freely. It does not stack with Bound, instead take the higher penalty.
WEAK MIND (MINOR/MAJOR)
The hero is easily affected by mental attacks. He suffers –1 to any roll to defend against Psi powers, including Spirit rolls to counteract the effects of Puppet. As a Major Hindrance, the penalty increases to –2.
